# Organizing Your Files

At this point, you know that your computer is probably stuffed with tons of digital photos—you have _way_ too many photo files for one person to ever keep up with. In fact, you probably have a thousand files or more.

Think about what a jumble of files looks like. Your computer doesn’t even come close to showing the degree to which your hard drive is full of files (see Figure 2-9).

Obviously, we all have thousands of files. How in the world can you _organize_ them?

Good question. Fortunately, it’s easy to get organized. Let’s face it: No matter what you do, as soon as you create a file, it’s a file. Organizing is the process of (1) collecting your files, (2) creating subfolders, (3) naming them and giving them names, and (4) keeping track of what’s in each folder.

In this section, you’ll learn how to get organized by creating folders for your files and sorting the files into those folders. As you create more and more files, you’ll gradually accumulate a grand collection of folders that you can label, sort, and

Photoshop can be difficult to navigate and difficult to learn. But with the right training, you can be a master. In this post, we’ll go over all the Photoshop features in basic and advanced topics.

Basic Photoshop

Editing Text

After saving images, the next step is to replace existing text with new text. You can highlight the text you want to edit and use the F key to edit.

As you can see, the font, text, color and size can be edited in this way.

Color Palettes

In Photoshop, it’s possible to edit colors using color palettes. They are collections of color swatches that make it easy to change a large number of colors in an image at once.

The tools available for color palettes vary. You can use the standard Palette tool, which lets you create or edit palettes, add a new layer or adjust the curves.

The AdobeKuler tool is a free online community where you can make new palettes and share them.

The Color Picker tool can be used to choose colors from images or other palettes.

Image Filters

Using a filter will add a new layer to your image, and will let you apply other effects such as blurs, lenses, or even more edits.

Pinching and zooming in the zoom function lets you see more details and applies filters for better results. This is useful for large images.

Filters can be used to produce a new image or use an old one and transform it.

The Hue/Saturation (HS) filter changes the saturation, hue and lightness of the image. You can apply filters with Curves and Levels.

Functions

Functions are commands that let you execute certain actions. Some functions are available

The Gradient tool allows you to draw horizontal or vertical lines in an image. Often the lines are used as fills, textured backgrounds, or backgrounds.
The Halftone Filter enables you to reproduce images on paper such as newsprint. It takes a grayscale image and turns it into a high contrast, halftone image.
You can select text in Photoshop using the Text tool. You can then move, resize and even rotate the text.
The Paths tool is used to create vector paths. You can draw shapes, convert them to paths, and apply various effects to them.
The Pen Tool lets you draw lines, shapes, and text. It is perfect for drawing simple designs.

You can edit the size of text in Photoshop by using the Type tool and the Type tool.
You can quickly add textures to an image. This is useful for giving the illusion of depth to a still image.
The Spacing tool enables you to make your images or layers easier to read. Text can be enlarged to make it larger.
You can easily add blur effects to your images. These can be useful for creating a soft focus effect or a blurred photo.

1969 Oceana Powerboat Championship

The 1969 Oceana Powerboat Championship was the inaugural season of the Oceana Powerboat Championship. The championship was sanctioned by the FISA (International Sailing Federation) as the first World Championship of Sailing and was held from May 9 to May 28, 1969, on the waters of the Island of Bermuda. The Bermuda Yacht Club was the organizer of the event. Fred MacGregor was the race director.

Starting from May 9 to May 27, 1969, yacht entries were accepted, the first race being held on May 9.

A total of eight events were held, five in Bermuda and three in Kingston, Jamaica. The overall winners were all from the UK, with Mr. Smith (England) and Mr. C. Wiseman (England) with a margin of ten points each in the final standings. The best Bermuda Islander for the season was Albert W. Stowe (Jamaica) with second place for the season, and the best Jamaican Yank was Mr. Blane Edwards (England) who had the best result.

Syd Field (England) won the regatta’s richest race: the International 3,000 meters handicap. This race was a double elimination, and Syd’s boat won by more than three minutes.

In the end, there were 202 entries with a total of 47 boats taking part in eight races.
