Organize Your Layers (6 Steps) The most common aspect of working with Photoshop is layers. You lay down the layers in your image, and then work with them in a multi-stage manner as you add and manipulate them. In this article we’ll take a look at another way to organize layers: By group. […]

Exercise about a proof of König’s Theorem by Bruck.

In the beginning of page 51 of Bruck’s A course in abstract algebra
we are given a bijective function $f:X\to X$ where $\emptyset\subseteq X\subseteq P(S)$ and $S
I do not see how he concludes $\forall s\in S,\exists x\in X\subseteq P(S):f(x)=s$
Let $x_0\in X$ and $s_0=f(x_0)$. Let $R$ be the range of $f-id_X$. Since $s_0\in R$ we can choose $x_1\in X$ s.t. $f(x_1)=s_0$.
In Bruck’s proof I can’t see that $f(x_1)\in R$.

I think you already saw the answer, but in case you were looking for something more formal:
If $s_0 \in \mathrm{range}(f)$, then there exists some $x \in X$ such that $f(x)=s_0$, so we know there is some $y$ such that $s_0 = f(y)$. By injectivity of $f$, this implies $y=x$. So $f$ is injective, and therefore bijective.

Using NLog, how to log if events are not logged by default?

Say I have a database logging class and I want to output records into the database, but I don’t want to automatically add them unless there was a problem.
I know you can create a custom EventLogger and then change the threshold to log a never-log-unless-it-happens event:

What’s New In?

So in my first week, I’ve found that it is quite hard to fit everything into a week and not get overwhelmed. But if I follow my own formula, I’ve made it and have planned my week better.

Here’s what I do:

Review my to-do list every Sunday and look for any tasks that I can do each day in my spare time.

Every evening, for the next week, I write down all the tasks I need to get done for the day.

Then I look for the time I have to get things done and when I arrive at work the next day, I check the list to see if there is anything I have to do immediately and get it out of the way.

After lunch I still have a bit of time but I do not want to waste time as I have to be responsible for my tasks. So I will look through all of the tasks that need to be done and make sure that they are all completed.

Finish my tasks before 5pm and I will get a free dinner out with my colleagues which helps me not to feel bad when I am hungry.

I normally finish all the tasks I have to do for that day and call in sick at 7pm on the day of work and rest so I can start the next day early and keep my responsibilities.

I have to say that it is not always easy to manage my time as I am studying part time but I will make it work this week as I have never been so productive in my life.

A final note, before I go…

Everyone has their own method and system which works well for them. If you are having any issues, I would love to hear from you!

I hope this post has been helpful for some of you but I will be writing a new one every week so, let me know what you would like to read about.
